Shikkui Plaster.

The official distributor of Shikkui Plaster to the UK - A distribution, training and application company delivering high standards through excellent service, having been trained and worked along side by some of the best and highly decorated applicators in Japan.

We are proud to introduce this product for the first time in the UK and will be setting up a network of fully trained applicators throughout the UK who can also teach and train this traditional Japanese Lime plaster. For those who wish to take this one step further we could set you up as dealers to sell our products, please call if this is of interests you.

Shikkui Plaster has a large range of traditional lime plasters which can be used for interiors and exteriors use some which can be applied in wet areas due to natural oils added in the mix. There are two further products one which is a very special mineral formed from long grained Diatomaceous Earth, Diachi which has one of the highest hygroscopic qualities of any plaster and can only be found in Japan the other is a very fine grade mineral plaster Izumi, plasterers who understand venetian plasters will love this product.

About the owner Paul Dixon

Started working in 1978 for a leading construction company in Oxford, trained as a plasterer learning and understanding all techniques and applications working with natural plasters in some of Oxfords most renowned colleges and buildings. Paul’s enthusiasm to learn gave him a good grounding and understanding of the construction industry.

Starting his own renovation company in the Thames Valley and working in the most prestigious addresses in central London (i.e. Hampstead, Mayfair, and Regent’s Park). Paul has also gained knowledge of different building methods having worked in:

Japan ( Yugeta, Tagawa-shi, Fukuoka-ken. the first UK plasterer to be invited to plaster the Board room at Tagawa Sangyo Co, Ltd also having the privalage to work along side some of the best plasterers in Japan)

France (Paris, Soisy sous Montmorency working with Marc Pontin from Platre also in Le Touquet with natural Gypsum)

Holland (Nijmegen working with clay and lime)

Bulgaria (Veliko Tarnovo working with Clay)

USA (Niagara Falls New York, Santa Fe, Alburquerque New Mexico with Croft Elsaesser and Petiluma, California working with Clay and Lime)

Belgium (Schaarbeek, Brussels working with Clay & Lime products )

With a City & Guilds in advanced decorative techniques Paul understands how colours and materials work, a meticulous eye for detail, enthusiasm, great understanding and knowledge of all building trades are matched with over 30 years of experience.

Founder of the Clay Plaster Company & Shikkui Plaster Paul has been working with natural plasters for many years and really understands the advantages and benefits over harmful modern plasters.
